What does my AFI FEST 2016 Press Pass allow access to?
Your press pass provides the following privileges, subject to capacity restrictions:
- Admission to regular screenings, special screenings, conversations and presentations, including the technology showcase, subject to seating availability.
- Access for one (1) to the Press Lounge inside the Festival Center located on the Mezzanine Level of The Hollywood Roosevelt.
- Access for one (1) to the AFI FEST Awards Brunch at The Hollywood Roosevelt.
- Access for one (1) to the Cinema Lounge at The Hollywood Roosevelt, on a space-available basis (excluding Gala after parties and private receptions).
Passholders must be seated in the theaters 15 minutes prior to the screening’s scheduled start time. After this time, any remaining seats will be released to the rush line.
How do I cover red carpet arrivals?
All press that wish to be on the red carpet at Galas must be specifically approved to do so, regardless of whether they have a festival press pass. A hard ticket is not required to cover red carpet arrivals. Each Gala is accredited separately. To request space on red carpets, e-mail festpublicity@AFI.com by November 3.
How can I watch a Gala?
All press that with to attend a Gala screening must be approved, separate from the red carpet approvals. Please specify the Galas you wish to attend. Tickets are for media only. No plus-ones. To request Gala tickets, email festpublicity@AFI.com by November 3.
Can I use my press pass to bring a guest to a screening?
No. Guests can attempt to reserve tickets online or gain admission to theaters through the Rush Line. Credentials are non-transferable and may not be sold or reproduced under any circumstances. AFI reserves the right to revoke a badge at any time.
How much does a press pass cost?
There is no charge. You can request press accreditation up until October 7 at http://afifestpress.afi.com/
Where do I park?
Hollywood & Highland Parking Garage, 6801 Hollywood Blvd. Parking is $2 for up to 2 hours with restaurant or shopping validation and 2$ for up to 4 hours at the TCL Chinese Multiplex with validation; $15 all-day max.
Will photos be needed for press passes?
No. However, you must present a photo ID when picking up your credentials.
When and where can I pick up my press pass?
Press passes will be available for pick up in the AFI FEST 2016 Press Lounge. Press Lounge hours are 9:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., beginning November 10 through the duration of the festival.
Does a press pass include access to the American Film Market?
No. That event is handled separately by the American Film Market.
Will press have mailboxes during the festival?
Where can I conduct interviews during the festival?
Accredited press members will have access to limited interview space in the Press Lounge. To request interview space, e-mail festpublicity@AFI.com.
How do I request interviews with filmmakers?
Contact the AFI FEST publicity office at festpublicity@AFI.com. We will help facilitate filmmaker interviews and provide the film publicist contact.

How do I get images from films in the festival?
AFI FEST 2016 images, filmmaker photos and film stills will be posted online. You can visit our press materials page at: http://afifestpress.afi.com/
For additional images of filmmakers or film stills, media should contact the filmmaker, studio, distributor or film publicist.
How do I request a screener of a film in the festival?
The AFI FEST publicity office will have a limited number of screeners available to press. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any screener requests.
AFI FEST 2016 will also be hosting advanced press screenings of select films in the weeks prior to the Fest.
