AFI FEST 2014 presented by Audi ANNOUNCES CLINT EASTWOOD’S AMERICAN SNIPER AS THE SECRET SCREENING ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11 AT THE EGYPTIAN THEATRE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, LOS ANGELES, CA, November 10, 2014 – AFI FEST 2014 presented by Audi, a program of the American Film Institute, announced today that Clint Eastwood’s AMERICAN SNIPER will be the Secret Screening tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. at the Egyptian Theatre.

“Clint Eastwood is an American icon,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI President & CEO.  “His are stories that stand the test of time, and we are proud and honored to unveil his latest masterpiece."

Opening in limited release on December 25, 2014, AMERICAN SNIPER stars Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history.  But there was much more to him than his skill as a sharpshooter.  U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission:  to protect his brothers-in-arms.  His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname "Legend."  However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents.  He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front:  striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world.  Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, personifying the spirit of the SEAL creed to "leave no one behind."  But upon returning to his wife, Taya (Sienna Miller), and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can't leave behind.

Admission to the screening will be available to AFI FEST 2014 passholders and the general public through online ticket reservations at AFI.com/AFIFEST, as well as at the AT&T Box Office located at Hollywood & Highland.  In addition the Rush Line will begin forming at 8:00 p.m.

For the 11th year, Audi is the festival’s presenting sponsor.  Additional top sponsors include AT&T, Coca-Cola, VIZIO, American Airlines (the official airline of AFI), Dunkin’ Donuts, Netflix and Stella Artois.  The festival’s venue sponsors include the Dolby Theatre, TCL Chinese Theatres, the Hollywood & Highland Center, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and the Egyptian Theatre.
